Tocontrol your exposure and ensure compliance with the generalpopulation/uncontrolled environment exposure limits, always adhere to the following procedure: Transmit no more than 50% of the time. To receive calls, release the PTT button.

4 Holdingthe antenna affects its effective OperationTo maintain compliances with FCC guidelines if you wear a radioon your body when transmitting always place the Radio in aMotorola-supplied or approved clip holder, holster, case or bodyharness for this product. Use of non-Motorola-approvedaccessories may exceed FCC you do not use one of the Motorola-supplied or approvedbody-worn accessories and are not using the Radio held in thenormal use position, ensure the Radio and its antenna are atleast 1 inch ( cm) from your body when OperationIf applicable, when using any data feature of the Radio with orwithout an accessory cable, position the Radio and its antennaat least one inch ( cm) from the Accessories53724: Remote Speaker with Push-to-Talk Microphone53725: Headset with Swivel Boom Microphone53727.

Theserecommendations are consistent with the independent researchby and recommendations of the Food and with pacemakers should: ALWAYS keep the Radio more than 6 inches (15 cm) fromtheir pacemaker when the Radio is turned ON.

9 Always usetechnology not place a portable Radio in the area over an air bag or in theair bag deployment area. Air bags inflate with great force. If aportable Radio is placed in the air bag deployment area and theair bag inflates, the Radio may be propelled with great force andcause serious injury to occupants of the Explosive AtmospheresTurn off the Radio prior to entering any area with a potentiallyexplosive atmosphere. Only Radio types that are especiallyqualified should be used in such areas as Intrinsically Safe. Do not remove, install or charge batteries in such areas.
10 Sparksin a potentially explosive atmosphere can cause an explosion orfire resulting in bodily injury or even : The areas with potentially explosive atmospheres referredto above include fueling areas such as below decks on boats,fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, areas where the aircontains chemicals or particles (such as grain, dust or metalpowders) and any other area where you would normally beadvised to turn off your vehicle engine. Areas with potentiallyexplosive atmospheres are often but not always Caps and AreasTo avoid possible interference with blasting operations, turn offthe Radio when you are near electrical blasting caps, in ablasting area, or in areas posted Turn off Two-Way radios.
