1 Using the HART Communicator with Micro Motion 9700 Series TransmittersFebruary 1994 Temperature Coefficients forFlow and DensityPlease read this important notice if the sensor/transmitter/peripheralcombination has not been factory-calibrated by Micro further improve the performance of our products, Micro Motion haschanged the way sensor tube temperature is measured. A new RTD andmounting method have resulted in improved overall performance through:l Improved response time to changes in fluid temperaturel Improved immunity to changes in ambient temperaturel Improved temperature input to the processorAs a result of the RTD change, the temperature coefficients for flow anddensity that are stated in this manual might be different from the values onthe sensor serial number tag.

2 The serial number tag carries the latest andcorrect values for the sensor. Failure to use the correct temperaturecoefficients may result in performance outside the correct temperature coefficient will give you the bestflowmeter performance, Micro Motion recommends Using the values listedon the sensor serial number tag when reconfiguring the transmitter andperipheral device. If the sensor, transmitter, and peripheral wereordered together as a flowmeter, they are factory-calibrated with thecorrect coefficients, and no reconfiguration is Motion , Inc.
