1 VSP-VP-4024 BIssue 61947724VP- 4024b -24 volt DC POWER SUPPLYINTRODUCTIONT hese instructions provide the specifications,installation and maintenance information for theVP- 4024b , -24 volt POWER VP- 4024b is a fully regulated -24 Vdc 4 amppower SUPPLY . The primary is protected by a circuitbreaker and the two amp outputs by fuses. Theoutput is floating with respect to ground, and the twooutputs may be connected together for one 4 ampoutput. The regulator will maintain -24 volts "2 Vover the rated range of input voltages and outputloads. A greater than 4 amp load on POWER up willcause the POWER SUPPLY to current limit and theoverload LED will light.

Two 2 amp outputsINSTALLATIONThe VP- 4024b is designed to be wall mounted within7 feet of an AC receptacle. A cold water pipe orearth ground should be connected to the local groundscrew terminal using 12 AWG or larger ground Connections to Valcom page control units areshown in Figure 1. When using the VP- 4024b with Valcom pageequipment, a strap may be added from the localground terminal to either of the ground outputs.

4 When installing Valcom one-way amplified horns, connect the white and black wires of thehorn to the POWER SUPPLY -24V and groundterminals respectively. When installing Valcom one-way speakersconnect the -24V and ground terminals of thespeaker to the corresponding POWER : Each 24 Vdc screw terminal is fused by a2 amp WER 2 type fuse. Therefore, whenconnecting equipment to this POWER SUPPLY , the loadshould be distributed between the (2) 2 amp outputterminals and each load should not exceed 2 Installation Instructions(For use when local codes require conduit to powersupply)Before beginning this procedure, disconnect powersupply from AC service and customer connections.

6 Connect asfollows:NOTE: The minimum recommended wiresize for AC input leads is 18 AWG; use wirerated for at least 105 degrees C. the AC input green/groundingconductor and the green ground wire fromthe faceplate to the chassis connection forthe ground wiring. the black wire to the circuit breakerterminal using a .250" tab receptacle.* the white wire to the transformerterminal using a .250" tab receptacle.* faceplate to cabinet; replace the six (6)screws and lockwashers.
