Parada-Daza Universidad de Concepcion-Chile ABSTRACT This essay has the following hypothesis as its foundation: a new function taking a more global perspective can be developed based on the analytical economic conception of utility . However, this new hypothesis/perspective considers that individuals are driven to act by economic as well as social, religious, ethical, and other reasons. Thus, the crux of this exposition is an analysis of the concept of utility and its application towards daily acts.
