The most common styles are: APA (American Psychological Association) MLA (Modern Language Association) Chicago (Chicago Manual of Style) Turabian (Turabian, K. L. 1996. A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations. 6th ed. Chicago: University of Chicago Press) CSE ( council of Science Editors, formerly CBE, council of Biology Editors). Many of these styles draw upon two standard methods of citing sources: the author-date method and the numerical-sequence method (similar to numbered footnotes or endnotes). It is most important that you use one citation style consistently in your work. For this course, we will use the CSE style, using the author-date (or name-year ) method.
