S8610U Universal Intermittent Pilot MODULE68-0135 24 The S8610U replaces existing flame rectification typeintermittent Pilot ignition modules with the followingcharacteristics: Single rod (local sense) or two rod (remote sense) flamesensing. Non-100 percent shutoff, 100 percent shutoff/lockout, or100 percent shutoff/continuous retry.

10 In year-round applications with greatercycling rates, the control can wear out more quickly. Performa monthly Or Steam CleaningIf a Module or gas control gets wet, replace it. If the applianceis likely to be cleaned with water or steam, protect (cover) thecontrols and wiring from water or steam flow. Mount thecontrols high enough above the bottom of the cabinet so theydo not get wet during normal cleaning procedures. Use aNEMA 4 enclosure for the ignition Module ; see the ElectronicIgnition Service Manual, form Humidity or Dripping WaterDripping water can cause the Module to fail. Never install anappliance where water can drip on the addition, high ambient humidity can cause the gas controlto corrode and the appliance is in a humid atmosphere, make sure aircirculation around the controls is adequate to preventcondensation. Also, regularly check out the system. A NEMA4 enclosure is recommended for the ignition Module ; see theElectronic ignition Service Manual, form ChemicalsCorrosive chemicals can attack the Module and gas control,eventually causing a failure.
