This publication applies to allMAJCOMs and the ANG when published in the ANGIND 2. Life Support Officers (LSO) or MAJCOMF unctional Managers (FM) for each MAJCOM or Numbered Air FORCE (NAF), as well as field operatingagencies (FOA) must send one copy of MAJCOM supplements to this publication to HQ USAF/XOOP,1480 Air FORCE Pentagon, Washington DC 20330-1480. Send comments and suggested improvements tothis INSTRUCTION on an AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication, through appropriate2 AFI11-301V1_ACC_SEYMOURJOHNSONAFB_I 23 FEBRUARY 2006channels, IAW AFI 33-360, VOLUME 1, The Air FORCE Publications and Forms Management Programs Developing and Processing Publications, to HQ USAF/XOOP. Ensure that all records created by this AFI are main-tained and disposed of IAW AFMAN 37-139, Records Disposition Schedule. (ACC) AFI 11-301V1, 19 July 2002, is supplemented as follows. This supplement implements AFPD11-3, Life Support, and amplifies policies and procedures contained in AFI 11-301 , AFI 36-2201, andother USAF life support directives. This supplement establishes and defines the Life Support equipment,technician and aircrew continuation training programs for assigned/attached ACC flying units, personnelassigned or attached to ACC for flying, and other aircrew members flying ACC aircraft. It clarifiesresponsibilities, standardizes equipment control procedures, defines general equipment maintenance/inspection requirements, establishes security procedures, and prescribes minimum equipment require-ments for ACC Life Support sections and aircrew.

4 Unless otherwise noted, this supplement is applicableto Air National Guard (ANG) units when published in the ANGIND2. In addition, this supplement appliesto ACC-gained Air FORCE Reserve Command (AFRC) when published in the AFRCIND2. Ensure that allrecords created as a result of processes prescribed in this supplement are maintained in accordance withAFPD 37-1, Air FORCE Information Management; and AFMAN 37-123, Management of Records; and dis-posed of in accordance with the Air FORCE Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) located at Contact supporting records managers as required. Among thechanges too numerous to mention in this section, this revision formally identifies the requirement for anALS Functional or Career Field Manager in the rank of Chief Master Sergeant on the Air Staff ( ), changes training requirements for ALS personnel (Table ) changes ALS Continuation Train-ing frequencies and AFORMS event identifiers (Table ), and expands guidance on minimum aircrewprotective clothing requirements (Chapter 6). (ACC) This document is substantially revised and must be completely reviewed.
