1 CHAPTER 29 PLUMBING SYSTEMSSECTION 2901 PLUMBING CODEP lumbing SYSTEMS shall comply with thePlumbing 2902 NUMBER OF number of PLUMBING fixtures within abuilding shall not be less than set forth for each type of buildingoccupancy in Table 29-A. 6 Dwelling units, congre-gate residences and lodging houses shall be provided with abathroom equipped with facilities consisting of a water closet,lavatory and either a bathtub or shower. Each sink, lavatory andeither a bathtub or shower shall be equipped with hot and coldrunning water necessary for its normal Water closet space all occupancies,the water closet stool shall be located in a clear floor space notless than 30 inches (762 mm) in width. The clear floor space infront of the water closet stool shall not be less than 24 inches(610 mm). 7 Drinking fountains shall not be installed in 2904 ALTERATION OF EXISTINGGROUP A alteration where thetotal cost of all alterations (including, but not limited to, electri-cal, mechanical, PLUMBING and structural changes) for a build-ing or facility within any 12-month period amounts to 60percent or more of the appraised alteration that haslittle likelihood of being accomplished because existing struc-tural conditions would require removing or altering a load-bearing member that is an essential part of the structural frame,or because site constraints prohibit modification or addition ofelements, spaces or features which are in full and strict compli-ance with the minimum requirements for new substantial alterations are madeto an existing Groups A, M and E occupancy with an occupantload in excess of 300, water closets, as specified in Table 29-Afor new construction, shall be.
