2 To add a member to People:1. Click on the People button in the Navigation Click on the button Add New Member(s) To People (Fig. 1).If the button is not visible, click Clear in the search criteria area. Complete the necessary fields in the Add People Membership Documents Using CaptureCompass Capture enables you to digitally scan case file documents, send them to yourself and/or a different recipient, and submit them to the Document Management System (DMS). Launching Capture and Selecting a User and RecipientYou can launch Capture from People by clicking on the Scanner icon or from the Capture button in the Navigation Pane. To select a User and Recipient:1. Click on the Recipient(s) Click on the Select User icon to the right of the User field (Fig. 2) and select a username from the resulting Click on the Add Recipient(s) button and choose the recipient(s) from the list displayed.

On the Keywords tab, enter criteria in one of the search fields, for example, Click on the Magnifying Glass icon next to your field entry. -OR-2. Enter multiple autofill keywords and click on the Search If client data: Exists, choose the correct member match from the results list. The remaining fields in the keywords tab are auto-filled with additional member data.

4 Does not exist, you must first add the member to Compass People. Scanning Documents1. Insert the document you want to scan into the scanner, backward and upside-down. 2. Select the appropriate scan options (Fig. 4): Color scans documents in color Duplex will scan both sides of the document and automatically drop blank pages Drop Color will remove a specified color from black and white documents. For example, selecting Drop Color (red) will remove any red, or red-like, marks on the black and white document. Colors you can drop include: Red Blue Green Yellow3. From the sub-menu, choose the appropriate Document Type. This triggers the scanner to begin scanning. A scan preview displays briefly, then an icon displays in the Documents panel and scan details are displayed below it. 5. Repeat the steps above to scan additional documents. Reviewing Scan ResultsThe document displays in the Documents panel with basic scan details below it (Fig. 5). Fig. 5 Scanned image icon with details1. Click on the File button (Fig. 7). A pop-up message lets you know that the documents were successfully imported. Fig. 7 File button2. A Print dialog box opens, prompting you to print a receipt. Choose Yes, No, or Cancel. Searching For and Viewing a DocumentTo search for a document in Compass Pilot :1.

7 Click on the Documents button in the Navigation Enter search criteria in the Document search fields. Click on the + symbol to repeat fields. Click on the - symbol to remove a field once it has been added. 3. Click Search to search for the document using the specified criteria. If you click Save Query, your search criteria will be saved and can be accessed in the Saved Queries tab of the Search Criteria area. Clicking Clear will remove all of the field entries. Any documents associated with your search criteria will display in a list (Fig. 8). To view a document:1. Select a document from the search list. The document you select will display in the Stage on the right. The document thumbnails will display at the bottom of the Stage. 2. Click on a thumbnail to move to another page of the document.
