8 ~~Philippians 4:6 ANSWER: The epiclesis is the prayer and action of invoking the Holy Spirit to consecrate the gifts of bread and wine. The priest holds his hands over the gifts during this prayer. PAVERS We will still accept orders for pavers but they may not be engraved and placed until next Spring. As we move into the cold weather months, working with the pavers becomes more difficult. We are also at the mercy of our engravers who do not want to process one or two pavers at a time. If you order a paver it will be produced and placed as early as possible next Spring. BICENTENNIAL PLANNING a meeting for all parishioners wanting to help plan the parish bicentennial celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 25th at 7:00 in the Parish Center. EVERYONE WELCOME! Bring your good ideas. Diocesan policy: Report and inform The Diocese of Evansville has in place a policy that requires that any allegation of child abuse must be reported to civil authorities.

9 If an allegation involves the sexual abuse of a minor by diocesan personnel, the Victims Assistance Coordinator must also be informed. Sexual misconduct violates human dignity and the mission of the church. The spiritual well-being of all victims, their families, and others in the community is of particular concern to the church. Report child abuse: Every allegation of child abuse must be reported to Child Protection Services, an agency of Indiana state government. CPS Toll-free: (800) 800-5556 Local law enforcement: 9-1- 1 Report and inform In the event of an allegation of sexual abuse of a minor (a person under 18) by diocesan personnel, report the allegation to authorities, and inform the Victims Assistance Coordinator for the diocese: Toll-free: (866) 200-3004 Local: (812) 490-9565 If you would like to help the 40 Days for Life Organization, please come to the Bloomington Abortion Clinic and pray with them.

10 In doing so, you may be able to change a mother s decision and save a life in the process. Many lives have been saved by good Christian people being there at these abortion chambers and praying for mothers as they contemplate abortion. If you would like to spend one hour or more at the Abortion Clinic in Bloomington, contact Liz Kavanaugh (486-3658) or Pat Jones (295-6525). Did you know that the Indiana Catholic Conference (ICC) is the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Indiana regarding state and national matters? The ICC encourages you to join the Indiana Catholic Action Network (I-CAN) to follow the Church s position on each issue and Indiana House and Senate activity and receive an Action Alert email before a vote on a key issue takes place.
