T H E R O M A N C A T H O L I C C H U R C H O F T H E RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE Ughetta Jilleba, Coordinator 24 East Main Street Stony Point, NY 10980 786-5298 | 786-3416 fax Monday thru Thursdays: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM MISSION STATEMENT: IMMACULATE CONCEPTION Parish is a Christian community of disciples in the Roman Catholic tradition, called by Jesus, united in Eucharistic worship and growing in faith, hope and love. Nourished through the sacraments and strengthened by God s transforming love, we are empowered to know the gospel message and to witness to others.

5 As Christian stewards, we are thankful for God s many gifts and we commit ourselves to share our time, talent and treasure in Christ-like service within our parish community and beyond. We seek God s blessing and guidance to be faithful to this mission. Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time September 23, 2018 September 23, 2018 Twenty-Fifth Sunday In Ordinary Time Dear Friends in Christ, Let there be light! .. As you have noticed upon entering the interior of the church, our electrical and lighting upgrade has been done. This past Monday and Tuesday, Valentine Electric spent those two days replacing old dull bulbs with high efficiency LTD lighting. Our church is more glorious in being brighter and easier to see as many of you are reading this letter before mass and follow along using the missalettes.

6 This weekend at all masses we welcome Mr. John Paul Obaieri. John Paul is a seminarian in his fourth year of studies at St. Joseph s Seminary. He will be speaking at each mass about the seminary and the annual Seminary Collection that will be taken up next weekend. We welcome John Paul to IMMACULATE ! We welcome to IMMACULATE CONCEPTION Mrs. Ughettta Jilleba who has taken on the role of our new Religious Coordinator. As we began our Religious Education Program this past week, we pray that the Holy Spirit will intercede to our young parishioners attending the program, their Catechists and our Coordinator begin a new year of teaching the faith. It has been a few weeks since I mentioned our major campaign Renew + Rebuild. As of Wednesday, September 19th, we have received $ in pledges from 171 gifts. This puts us at 97% of our goal of $839, or just under $25,000 away from goal.

7 Next weekend we will hold our second in-pew solicitation at every mass. The Archdiocese is hoping 29 more families will find it in their hearts to take part in this major campaign. I am praying, because of your continuing generosity, that more families will indeed respond. I am confident because of your continuing generosity to our parish, we indeed will make and surpass our goal, even if by one dollar! May God in his merciful love continue to bless all of us, -Fr.
