Funeral services will be 10 Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Albia with Father Leonard Goettemoeller officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Weller with military rites by the American Legion of Albia and Melrose. Visitation will begin 9 Wednesday at Winfield Funeral Home, Albia with a 4 Rosary Service, a 7 Christian Wake Service, and the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Monroe County. 2 Mary s Catholic Church in Albia, Fr. Leonard Goettemoeller officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary s Cemetery in Weller with military rites conducted by the American Legion of Albia and Melrose. He was born Nov. 15, 1936 in rural Melrose to William J. And Margaret (Vogel) knowles . He married Eileen Cratty Sept. 20, 1969 in Chariton. He was a graduate of Melrose High School, class of 1954. He had farmed in Monroe and Lucas counties. He was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of the St. Patrick s Catholic church in Melrose. When he moved to Albia in 2000, he transferred his membership to St. Mary s Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4167 in Albia. He is survived by his wife, Eileen knowles of Albia; one son, Jimmy knowles of Laguna Hill, Calif.; two daughters, Katherine knowles of Albia and Barb (Sean) Conway of Homestead; one granddaughter, Kathryn Conway; two brothers, Jack knowles of Albia and Ed knowles of St.
3 Louis, Mo.; and two sisters, Theresa Bates of Gladstone, Mo. And Ellen Wobbeking of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Margaret knowles . Visitation will be open after 9 , Wednesday, July 28, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia. There will be a 4 Rosary service and a Christian wake service at 7 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6:30 to 8:30 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Casketbearers will be Jack knowles , Dan knowles , Ed knowles , Jimmy knowles , Bill knowles , and Barb Conway.
