6 LM317L -NSubmitDocumentationFeedbackCopyr ight 2000 2016, LM317L -Nis capableof providingextremelygoodloadregulationbut a few precautionsare resistorconnectedbetweenthe adjustmentterminaland theoutputterminal(usually240 ) mustbe tied directlyto the outputof the regulatorratherthannearthe dropsfromappearingeffectivelyin serieswiththe referenceand ,a 15-Vregulatorwith resistancebetweenthe regulatorand load will havea load regulationdueto line resistanceof IL. If the set resistoris connectednearthe loadthe effectiveline resistancewill (1 + R2/R1)or in this case, showsthe effectof resistancebetweenthe regulatorand 240- set TO-92package,it is easyto minimizethe resistancefromthe caseto the set resistor,by usingtwoseparateleadsto the outputpin.
