Apply LOCTITE (#222purple) if available afterdegreasing the DisassemblingProceduresa) Unscrew and remove theend cover bolts. b) Place a screwdriver underthe lip of the end coverand carefully lever thecover out of the casing. c) Using a driver, remove theshaft seal. d) Remove O-ring on the endcover or on the casing(incase of ME750A andME850).e) During the works of b-dabove, shims placed onthe cup of taper rollerbearing might be takenonto the end cover whenit is removed. Take carethat any of shims are ) Examine the seal runningarea on the shaft anddress out any scores witha fine oil stone. Duringthis work, cover the motorto avoid getting dirt intothe Motor . g) Dress out any scores orburrs on O-ring groove, oilseal housing etc.

5 Make align-ment marks on the bear-ing housing to ensure re-assembly in the samerelationship. (See Fig. 5) b) Fit two M10 eyebolts intothe two threaded holes inthe bearing a suitable hoist andlift the housing squarely-out of the Motor the Motor with apiece of clean cloth toprevent dirt from enteringthe body. c) Using a driver remove theshaft oil seal. d) Remove the O-ring on thebearing ) Take care that the bearingcup and pre-load shimsare not disturbed duringthis ) Examine the seal runningarea on the shaft anddress out any scores witha fine oil stone. g) Clean out the oil sealrecess and O-ring grooveand ensure any sharpedges or roughness areremoved. h) Cleanse, with cleankerosene the removedbearing housing and bolts,dry naturally or by a Reassembly ProcedureClean the new oil seal andO-ring and fit them in thefollowing ) Fit the oil seal and O-ringon the bearing care that O-ring orseal lip are not bruised.

6 B) Oil the seal lip and O-ringand lower the housingsquarely over the shaftand into the Motor care that the seal lipdoes not contact theedges of the shaft keyway or splines. Use asimple sleeve for this pur-pose. (See Fig. 5)c) Use new seal washers forhousing bolts and tightenthem. Take the followingcares in doing this work(See Fig. 5): (i) The bolts used differ ineach Motor size, andeach bolt must be fittedat the designated posi-tion. The bolt sizes tobe used and therequired tighteningtorque is listed on page6, in Table 2. The fittingpositions for each boltare shown in Fig. 6.(ii) The tightening torquemust be confirmed on atorque wrench.(iii) Apply LOCTITE (#222,purple) on degreasedbolt 5.
