Transcription of NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION TRAINING …
1 NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION TRAINING outline New Hire (NH) TRAINING plan: 1. HR signs up NH 2. NH reports to worksite location to begin Driver TRAINING 3. The NH is placed with an authorized mentor* who will conduct their TRAINING according to the NEWLY-EMPLOYED DRIVER TRAINING CHECKLIST . 4. During this time, the mentors will offer feedback to the NH on a daily basis which will be done using the DAILY TRAINING LOG . (This documentation can be helpful for the NH to improve in specific areas from day to day. This can also be used as a tool to refuse further employment or extend TRAINING time. 5. A second authorized mentor may be used where necessary. It is vital both mentors are saying the same things. 6. Once the TRAINING is complete and the NH has successfully completed all of the skill sets documented on the checklists, all responsible parties will sign.)
2 Mentors will then submit checklists to plant manager/supervisor for final review. NH who has not met requirements is not approved ready mix drivers. 7. The area/operations manager will initial checklist once they are satisfied that the TRAINING is complete. 8. A copy of the packet will then be sent to the safety department for review before being forwarded to HR to be filed in the NH personnel file. 9. Within the first 30 days of employment, all new hires complete new EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION along with the driver TRAINING portion. 10. The new EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION will consist of a day-long classroom TRAINING safety session. The content of this classroom TRAINING is contained on the NEW EMPLOYEE SAFETY ORIENTATION checklist. This will be required TRAINING for all NHs. 11. The plant/area manager is responsible for ensuring NH attend this TRAINING .
3 The TRAINING will take place at a predetermined location on specified days within the NH s first 30 days. 12. This TRAINING will be directed by the Safety Manager. *A train-the-trainer class must be conducted where prospective driver mentors will receive TRAINING from a preselected Peer Trainer in order to be authorized. The Peer Trainer will be selected by an upper management committee and the prospective authorized mentors will be selected by area managers with regional manager approval. The prospective authorized mentors should be selected based on history, incidents and/or the ability of EMPLOYEE to be an effective facilitator/coach.
