1 June 2019 Series Raw mark grade boundaries Cambridge Technicals Understanding your grade boundaries A grade boundary is the minimum mark you need to get a grade . For example, if the grade boundary for a Merit is 49 marks , you need to get at least 49 to achieve a Merit. A mark of 48 would therefore be a Pass. Unit grades The unit grades for Cambridge Technicals are as follows: Level 3 qualifications D Distinction M Merit P Pass R Near-Pass U Unclassified Level 2 qualifications Unit 1C: P Achieved U Not Achieved All other units: D Distinction M Merit P Pass U Unclassified Calculating your overall qualification grade To calculate your overall qualification grade , we convert each unit grade into points, which are added together to give a total points score. We then compare this total points score to the points grade boundaries to get your qualification grade .
