1.3 Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease The term chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) refers to a group of conditions characterized by progressive development of airflow limitation that usually not fully reversible with is medication treatment. Chronic obstructive bronchitis and emphysema are two serious conditions that cause COPD.
