There is a built-in pipe chaseon low vertical units Designed to work together, the pipehanger fits into a slotted section of the mounting bracket andhangs downward. Pipe hangers are made of heavy steel wireand are constructed to support supply and return piping (pip-ing can range up to 3/4 in diameter with 1 insulation). Z barmounting brackets secure to the wall assuring solid unit instal-lation. DESIGN FEATURES MAINTAINEFFICIENT COMFORT INSTALLATION TIMEAND COSTSThe Rosemex Induction Unit utilizes the induction principle toeffectively blend clean external air, conditioned in a central sta-tion air handler, with filtered room air for steady seasonal com-fort control.

This Rosemex system is ideal for application inlarge office buildings and hospitals where the need for aperimeter system is necessary to save space while maintain-ing comfortable internal air in over 1800 sizes, coil and nozzle combinations andarrangements, Rosemex Induction Unit provides the engineerwith the most practical selection, in terms of initial cost andenergy conservation, for each individual situation. All modelsinclude design features that reduce installation costs and pro-vide low operating sound system installation costs are minimized through uniquedesign features developed by Rosemex .

Both vertical and lowvertical units include an integral pipe chase which saves spacefor pipe installation. The chase requires no structural changesand saves the material and labor costs of constructing a sep-arate pipe chase in the field. An additional Z bar bracket isrequired to provide space for the integral pipe chase on thevertical circular primary air connections and discharge ductcollars speed up installation because of their compatibility withprimary air supply ducts and cabinet discharge Rosemex Induction Unit features include a readilyaccessible, but tamper-proof, push-pull damper which simpli-fies system balancing; an optional drain connection.

And fieldreversible coil for installation vertical and low vertical units can be either floor or wallmounted. Mounting brackets, designed by Rosemex , add flex-ibility to installation requirements. Coil connections aredesigned for maximum clearance between the supply andreturn allowing enough space to make sweat or flare connec-tions quickly and features, combined with the rugged unit construction ofthe vertical, horizontal and low vertical models, enable the con-tractor to furnish a quality installation while reducing time FEATURES AND OPTIONS2 THREE BASIC MODELSV ertical: 16-84 in 4 incrementsLow Vertical: 20-84 in 4 incrementsHorizontal.

Paralleling this need for high standardoperation, the requirement of quieter operating sound levelshas become prominent in relation to comfort and end result shows a major consideration toward operatingsound levels when selecting induction equipment. To comply with this new demand, Rosemex Induction Unit hasbeen designed to meet the most stringent acoustical require-ments. UNIQUE INSULATED AIR PATHA major element of Rosemex Induction Unit's low operatingsound level is a unique, acoustically lined, 1/2" by 6" air pas-sage downstream from the balancing damper.

A 90 degreeturn against insulating material and the narrow shape of the airpassage effectively dampen air noise. BALANCING DAMPERThe self sealing balancing damper guards against high pressureair leaks, yet is easily adjustable for system balance. Cast zincunit ends eliminate the possibility of leaking air seams and airbypass, reinforcing the concept of low operating sound levels. ACOUSTICAL SELECTION TABLESR osemex Induction Unit s reputation of quiet operation isbacked by tables found later in this catalog.

The simplicity ofthe table information and layout aids the designer in selectinga unit whose capacity will meet project sound requirements. UNIT OPERATIONA constant volume of high velocity, preconditioned primaryair provides the motive power in an induction system. Itenters the internal section of the unit plenum and passesthrough the balancing damper. The damper is adjusted atstart-up to provide the required nozzle static pressure. Afterthe damper, the air passes through a sound attenuating com-partment to the nozzle strips.

When this high velocity airpasses through the nozzles, it creates an area of reducedpressure behind the secondary water coil. This reduced pres-sure induces room air through the unit coil. The coil controlsthe heating and/or cooling of the room air. A secondary watercontrol valve, regulated by the space thermostat, varies unitcapacity to offset room loads. The tempered room air mixeswith the primary air in the discharge stack and is then emit-ted into the room. The primary air provides required ventila-tion and, by varying moisture content, maintains humidityconditions during any unique insulated air path of Induction Unit is diagramedbelow.
