XLS3000 Intelligent AddressableFire Alarm SystemXLS3000s, XLS-DVC audio option at Honeywell XLS3000 is an Intelligent Fire Alarm ControlPanel designed for medium- to large-scale facilities. Fire emer-gency detection and evacuation are extremely critical to lifesafety, and the XLS3000 is ideally suited for these XLS3000 is part of the XLS Series of products from Hon-eywell. The XLS3000 is ideal for virtually any applicationbecause it features a modular design that is configured perproject requirements. With one to ten Signaling Line Circuits(SLCs), the XLS3000 supports up to 3,180 intelligent address-able is critical to fire evacuation personnel, and theXLS3000 s large 640-character Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)presents vital information to operators concerning a fire situa-tion, fire progression, and evacuation Eclipse line of detectors and modules introduces a newconcept in fire detection.

Because the devices are all individu-ally intelligent they have the ability to communicate directlywith one another. For years the fire alarm industry hasdemanded peer to peer communication between networkedcontrol panels. The XLS3000 is the first to offer peer to peercommunication between the detection and notification new concept in detection technology offers unparalleledresponse time, distributed intelligence and outstanding host of other options are available, including single- or multi-channel voice; firefighters telephone; LED, LCD, or PC basedgraphic annunciators; fire or integration networking; advanceddetection products for challenging environments, and manyadditional Listed to UL 864, 9th Edition.

One to ten isolated intelligent Signaling Line Circuits (SLC),Style 4, 6, or 7. Up to 159 detectors and 159 modules per SLC, 318 devicesper loop/3,180 per FACP or network node. Large 16 line, 640 character LCD backlit display or use dis-play-less as a network node. Network option supports the XLS3000 , XLS140, XLS140-2,XLS-NCA2 Network Annunciator, XLS-DVC-EM, and Hon-eywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI). Application code and databases are saved in Flash mem-ory, eliminating the need to change EPROMs. With built-in Degraded Mode operation, the system is capa-ble of general alarm if a fire condition is present even if theCPU fails.

4,000 event history file in nonvolatile memory, plus a sepa-rate 1,000-event alarm-only file. Alarm verification selection per point. Autoprogramming, walk test, positive alarm sequence, andtime scheduling. Support for Eclipse Detector Protocol. Backwards compatible with FlashScan and CLIP SLC devices. Optional universal 2,040-point DACT. EIA-232 printer port; EIA-485 annunciator port. Honeywell SMART maintenance LINE CIRCUITSThe Honeywell XLS3000 Intelligent Addressable Fire AlarmSystem supports up to ten isolated intelligent signaling line cir-cuits with Style 4, 5, or 7.

Each of the 10 circuits can have upto 159 detectors (any mix of ion, photo, laser photo, thermal, ormulti-sensor) and 159 modules ( manual stations, two-wire smoke , notification, or relay) with a total of 318 device perloop/3,180 per FACP or network node. Actual circuit loading isdependant on SLC communication Occupancy Schedules allow changing sensor sensitiv-ity by time of day, and day of week. An optional 2,040 point dig-ital alarm communicator transmitter (DACT) is available for usewith central monitoring stations. Annunciator support, includ-ing custom graphics, is provided via an EIA-485 annunciatorport.

An EIA-232 printer port is also provided. The history filehas a 4,000 event capacity in nonvolatile memory, plus a sepa-rate 1,000 event alarm-only file. Advanced history filters allowsorting by event, time, date, or address. Alarm verificationselection can be done per point, with tally. Autoprogrammingand Walk test reports are provided. The panel includes posi-tive alarm sequence (PAS) Presignal functionality. Timeroptions include Silence Inhibit and Auto programmability, with check and compare, is providedeither directly on the panel or on a PC with the XPEDITE tools program.

Up to 1,000 powerful Boolean logic equationscan be used. Non-alarm points are provided for lower priorityfunctions. Remote ACK/Signal Silence/System reset/Drill canbe done via monitor modules. The XLS3000 supports the SCSS eries smoke control system in both HVAC or FSCS 1 shows some of the sample system options. DISPLAYThe XLS3000 display is a backlit LCD with 640-character dis-play and a program keypad. The display allows up to nineusers, each with a password and selectable access levels. Thedisplay has 11 LED indicators: Power Fire Alarm Pre-Alarm Security Supervisory System Trouble Other Event SignalsSilenced Point Disabled CPU Failure Controls ActivePage 2 of 8 8/28/07 74-4034-1 are also five membrane switch controls: Acknowledge,Signal Silence, Drill, System Reset, and Lamp At the heart of the XLS3000 is a set of detection devices anddevice protocol - FlashScan.

FlashScan is an all-digital proto-col that gives superior precision and high noise well as giving quick identification of an active input device, this new protocol can also activate many output devices in afraction of the time required by competitive protocols. This highspeed also allows the XLS3000 to have the largest device perloop capacity in the industry - 318 points - yet every input andoutput device is sampled in less than two seconds. Up to 159outputs can be activated in less than 5 seconds. The micropro-cessor-based FlashScan detectors have bicolor LEDs that canbe coded to provide diagnostic information, such as deviceaddress during Walk multicolor LEDs blink the device address during a WalkTest.

FlashScan operates with a fully digital, high-precisionprotocol. The multi-detector algorithm involves nearby detec-tors in the alarm decision, and the FlashScan device also uti-lizes drift FlashScan protocol incorporates nine levels of pre-alarmXLS intelligent sensing, each of which can be manuallyadjusted. There are five sensitivity windows: Ion - to obscuration. Photo - to obscuration. Laser (Pinnacle ) - to obscuration. Acclimate - to obscuration. Filtrex - to FlashScan has a self-optimizing pre-alarm, automaticdetector sensitivity testing, and two levels of maintenancealert.

It also provides programmable activation of sounder/relay bases during alarm or pre-alarm. The Read Status dis-plays the level of detector SENSINGI ntelligent sensing is a set of software algorithms that providethe XLS3000 with industry-leading smoke detection complex algorithms require many calculations on eachreading of each detector, and are made possible by the veryhigh-speed microcomputer used by the Compensation and SmoothingDrift compensation allows the detector to retain its originalability to detect actual smoke , and resist false alarms, even asdirt accumulates.
