width, deflection, and height, while centimeters or meters are both numerical units for expressing length. In fluid mechanics, there are only four primary dimensions from which all the dimensions can be derived: mass, length, time, and force. The brackets around a symbol like [M] mean “the dimension” of mass.

Description-FEM cuts a structure into several elements (pieces of the structure).-Then reconnects elements at “nodes” as if nodes were pins or drops of glue that hold elements together.-This process results in a set of simultaneous algebraic equations.FEM: Method for numerical solution of field problems. Darcy Friction Factor Formulae in Turbulent Pipe Flow
www.kolumbus.fiLunowa Fluid Mechanics Paper 110727 July 29, 2011 Abstract The Darcy friction factor in turbulent pipe ow must be solved from the Colebrook equation by iteration. Because of the iteration new equations to solve this friction factor has been developed. From these equations the Blasius, Swamee-Jain and Haaland equations were validated.
