It supports BASIC programmingof Picaxe chips on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating is a 'notepad' type application for the development of Picaxe programs. It supports all Picaxe chips and has all the normal development features such as source code colour syntax highlighting, autoindentation, syntax check and download, debug and terminal windows etc. This is the recommended toolfor Linux and Macintosh support of the Picaxe a Windows version is also available, we would recommend use of the Picaxe ProgrammingEditor , Licensing and CopyrightPICAXE products are developed and distributed by Revolution Education Ltd. 5 Linux Distributions include; Xandros on Eee PC, Ubuntu ( Edgy Eft ) or later, SUSEL inux Enterprise Desktop 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux LinAXEpadThe LinAXEpad download is a single gzipped tar archive ( frequently known as a "tarball" ) which can bedownloaded from Revolution Education Ltd's web site at - the file on hard disk, memory stick or card, CD or DVD which can be accessed bythe Linux PC upon which LinAXEpad will be LinAXEpadLinAXEpad is delivered as an application binary distribution and does not require the compilation of anysource code. Providing the system requirements are met it can simply be installed then are numerous and varying distributions of Linux and it is recommended that the documentationwhich accompanies your particular distribution is consulted before LinAXEpad for Eee PCLaunch the Work > File Manager applicationCreate or select a folder to extract the LinAXEpad application to. 7 You can change simplecat="Work" to simplecat="Learn" or even simplecat="Play" depending on which section you feel is appropriate for your Picaxe projects to appear LinAXEpad for UbuntuLaunch Nautilus or your favourite file manager and locate the file previously on and this will launch the File Roller Archive Manager. Alternatively,right-click on and select 'Open with Archive Manager'.Click on the 'Extract' toolbar icon or use the Archive then Extract menu option to load or select a folder to extract the LinAXEpad application to. For example, create a "LinAXEpad"folder in your 'Home Folder'. The Link to LinAXEpadfile can be renamed if LinAXEpad from a Command ShellLogin as a root user then open a Command Shell; under Gnome that will be Terminal, under KDE that will be Konsole.
