1 Manager Approval ProcessIntroduction213 Getting Help1/5eBonus ApprovalsEBONUSLOYALTY>IntroductionThe EBONUS tool allows approved users to post EBONUS points or Frequent Flyer miles to a Marriott Bonvoy Member s account. This may occur because of a property promotion, service recovery, compensation for a walked Guest, or an above-property initiative. All entries over 10,000 points or 3,000 miles must be approved by an approver different than the person that posted the entry, within 48 hours of the initial entry, to meet the timeframe communicated to the Member. The points or miles that are issued with a property bonus are charged to the hotel as an expense. Users must complete training on the Digital Learning Platform (DLP), request access through Identity Shoppe, and be approved by their supervisor, prior to using the tool.
2 Approval takes approximately 3 business days. You will need an EID to request accesseBonus reasons available in the EBONUS tool for awarding a points or a miles bonus include: Select Walk to compensate Elite Members for being unable to accommodate their stay, including points required to fulfil the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee. Only Points may be awarded for this reason. Miles are not available. Select Service Recovery to compensate Members for service issues or other problems encountered while on property or in connection with their stay. Note: associate members are not eligible for service recovery. Select Promotions for promotions with designated rate codes. Select Hotel Initiatives to award points for food and beverage when the Guest is not staying at the hotel, and carry out Member appreciation initiatives available to the general public, or identified market segments approved by property leadership.
3 Use the job aid for Off Folio Earning , for specific steps to award points for off-folio dining. Select Market/CLS Initiatives to carry out short-term projects and proofs of concept approved by above-property .12/5> EBONUS APPROVALSLOYALTYE mail NotificationIf a posting requires approval, the approver designated within the EBONUS posting will receive an email notification, unless they have asked to turn the email notifications off. Marriott Bonvoy Guidelines require that entries are approved within 48 hours of posting. Use the link in the email to open the EBONUS tool. You may also launch EBONUS from MGS My Applications. For more details on launching the Tool from MGS, use the EBONUS Technical Steps Document Lesson. While the email will only be sent to the person entered in the Approver field, other Approvers may also access and approve the entry, by searching for it in the EBONUS tool.
4 Guidelines and StandardsClick the EBONUS Posting Tool hyperlink to review the Guidelines and Standards. Click I have Read and Accept the Guidelines and Standards to continue. If you do not understand them, you may click the Do Not Accept option. You will not be able to proceed and will be returned to the MGS login screen. Complete the required fields marked with a red asterisk (*). Ensure the Bonus Earned Start Date is before today , and is early enough to include all unapproved EBONUS entries.
5 For example, if today is January 3, 2018, and you approve EBONUS entries daily, enter a Bonus Earned Start Date of 01/02/2018 (yesterday) and Bonus Earned End Date of 01/03/2018 (today). Click the Entry to ReviewEvents that match your criteria will be displayed. Select the entry to review by clicking the hyperlink in the Account - Member Name Approval ProcessIntroduction213 Getting Help4/5> EBONUS APPROVALSLOYALTYA pprove the EntryReview the event details. Then Approve or Reject an entry using the buttons at the top. Review the Comment details, and if there are frequent Service Recovery postings, take note. Click the Next button to move to the next entry in the list, or click Return to go back to the Search Results screen. There may be a message at the top of the screen indicating a validation error, such as a duplicate entry.
6 You will only be able to reject these entries. Alternate Review ProcessYou may also select, approve or reject entries in the list view. When you are finished reviewing entries, click the Submit button. Preparer NotificationRegardless of the review method selected, the preparer is notified via email unless you uncheck the Send Email to Preparer box. If you reject the entry, provide an explanation in the Rejection Comment field so that the preparer can re-submit correctly, if needed. You may not approve or reject your own > EBONUS APPROVALSLOYALTYE mail Confirmation to a MemberThe Marriott Bonvoy Member receives the points or miles immediately upon approval of the entry. They receive a confirmation email that includes the issuing property, the title of the bonus (the reason selected in the Bonus field), and the amount of points or miles issued.
7 The Member statement will include details about the transaction, including the date, amount of points, and hotel Marriott Bonvoy Property eBonusUse the MBV7 Marriott Bonvoy Property EBONUS to track the costs associated with awarding points and miles, identify service issues and trends to enable better service, and prevent fraud.
