Controller Area Network (CAN) Implementation Guide
The network not only comprises the differential signaling bus lines, but also power and ground, so that nodes can be powered from the bus. The physical layer specifications for DeviceNet specify features such as the use of CAN technology, protection from wiring errors and the ability to add or remove nodes from the network while it is operational.
