CAUTION READ ALL Instructions THOROUGHLYBEFORE Installation . IF YOU ARE NOTEXPERIENCED IN WORKING WITH FUELTANKS, SEEK PROFESSIONAL BATTERY BEFOREPROCEEDING!ANY TYPE OF WORK INVOLVING fuel TANKREPAIR OR MODIFICATION SHOULD BEPERFORMED WITH EXTREME CARE. DUE TOTHE POSSIBILITY OF IGNITING fuel FUMES,THE TANK SHOULD BE EMPTY, DRY, ANDPURGED OF SHOULD BE PERFORMED IN A WELLVENTILATED TOOLS THAT WILL NOT CREATE POSSIBLEFUEL IGNITION SPARKS SHOULD BE TO COMPLY WITH INSTALLATIONINSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT INUNSATISFACTORY INSTRUMENTPERFORMANCE.
IMPROPER INSTALLATIONOR USE OF THE PRODUCT FOR ANAPPLICATION OTHER THAN ITS INTENDEDUSE WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND COULDRESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL YOU WILL NEED Tape MeasureHacksawWire CuttersTerminal Crimper or Pliers3/8 WrenchPart I: Adjusting the Sender1. Measure the depth of the tank down through the largehole. On the fuel Level Sender measure down fromthe bottom of the mounting flange 1/2 of your tank depthdimension. Mark the pivot support at that dimension asshown in Illustration A. The nearest hole at or above yourmark will be the new mounting location of the float Note on which side of the float pivot support the pivotis mounted.
The pivot must be remounted on the same sideof the support. Remove the hex nut and lock washerholding the pivot and remove the pivot from the careful not to damage the pivot or any wire whencutting the the float pivot support is too long for the depth ofthe tank, you must cut off the excess with a hacksaw 1/2inch below your selected wrap the wire once or twice around thesupport (see illustration A) so it does not interfere withthe float arm. Be sure the wire is loose and the float pivotis on the correct side of the support.
Remount the floatpivot at the selected hole, replace the lock washer, andtighten the hex : Be sure that the wire connection is atthe bottom of the pivot and the T head of themounting bolt rests in its slot and against the metalplate, as shown in illustration B, or the sender will notoperate A3. Slide the float and outer retainer toward the pivotalong the float arm to dimension B selected in the table asshown illustration A. Leave about 1/4 inch of the armbeyond the outer retainer and cut off the excess. Do notposition the inner retainer at this Insert the float/float arm assembly into the tank hole, andlower the sender until the mounting flange makes contact with the top of the tank.
Make sure the flange ispositioned flat against the tank. The float should hangfreely and not contact the bottom of the tank. If thefloat contacts the bottom of the tank, slide the float andthe retainer 1/4 inch up the arm towards the pivot and trimthe excess as in step 3. Try the fit again, and repeat this stepas necessary for the float to hang freely. Now you may slidethe inner retainer against the float. fuel Level SenderStandard Marine240 - 33 OHM Single Station120 - OHM Dual StationIS0065F ECR4820 8/2004 Installation InstructionsILLUSTRATION BPart II: Installing the Sender 1.
The entire Installation is shown in illustration the gasket on the tank top and rotate it until all theholes align properly. Lower the float into the tank andlower the sender until the mounting flange is flat on thegasket and all the holes align CNOTE: If you find that when aligning the holes, the float arm hits the tank side, a baffle, or a pick-up tube, it will be necessary to rotate the float armpivot support. Slightly loosen the nut holding thepivot support to the mounting flange and rotatethe float pivot support until the float arm hangsfree in the desired location.
(In most powerboatapplications the float arm should point forward). Gently retighten the nut and Gently turn all the screws or nuts until theyjust contact the mounting flange. Snug the screwsor nuts in opposite sequence. If you do this inseveral stages it will ensure that the mountingflange evenly compresses the gasket. Do not overtighten as you may strip out threads in tank Connect the end of the black ground wire toground. Connect the pink signal wire to the signalwire of the Installation is now !! OBSERVE THE fuel TANKDURING INITIAL OPERATION TO BESURE THERE ARE NO LEAKS!
